Wedstravaganza

Wow. Now that I'm all settled in Germany, I'm contemplating a wedding and life in the US. Yes, I realize I didn't plan this very well, but then I wasn't in charge of the engagement portion of the saga, so it's okay. Besides, apparently I needed to save all my planning energy for the wedding.

Planning a wedding from the wrong continent is sort of weird. So far I have been relying completely on my friends and family, and mostly on Katie. She's been a great sport so far, but we're still 272 days away from marriage. How do I know this? Because the knot tells me so. It was suggested that I join the knot to get some ideas and some planning tools, which is helpful, but it's totally stressing me out. First off, I love my Dan countdown timer. I set it on my computer for the next time I get to see Dan, and I get excited as the time gets shorter. The wedding countdown is ominous. One less day to get things done.....Thanks knot.
It also has checklists of things that need to be done in preparation for the wedding, and I love checklists! How helpful! Except these checklists come with deadlines on them. :( I'm already behind on planning my wedding, and I still have 272 days left! Waah! I only got engaged like three weeks ago! sigh.

I'm trying to pat myself on the back regularly for things I accomplish so I feel better about the process. I also try to thank my sister a whole lot. It will be lovely and fun. Tell me that. It will be lovely and fun. And no matter how it turns out, I get to go home with Dan when it's over. :)
